Talk bout a super fun party.
Last night cracked so hard I could barely contain myself.
As soon as I walked into jbar I was hype.
The music was dope per usual. It was the afterparty for the Kid Sister show at the house of blues.
If you haven’t already bought her album, Ultraviolet. Do so.
Played her hits and naturally folks lost their minds.
By about 1 she was there sittin next to us having as much fun as we were.

This weeks Pick is none other than the great John Mayer.
His new album Battle Studies is great when you are in the mood for it.
I admit that it is a little slow for my taste but then again we are talking about john mayer.
Hes making this music for the ladies not for me.
Nonetheless its still a very good album
You can always count on him to deliver a few songs that you can relate or dedicate to someone.
After seeing Little Dragon the other night it inspired me to put together my dream concert ( if i had money to put it on) here in chicago. It would consist of 3 different parts.
The long, LONG awaited day has finally arrived.
What day am I talking about you ask?
The day That Melissa young aka Kid Sister finally releases her debut album, “Ultraviolet” Off of foolsgold/downtown records.
After countless set-backs and false hopes, the world Now has what it’s been waiting for.
So ladies, run out of the nail salons and fellas throw on your kicks and head over to the closest bestbuy/target/Whatever and go pick up the album.
Rocked my world. The free little dragon show at the double door last night in Chicago was amazing. While in Line waiting to get In I could barely contain myself.
They played all my favorite songs and gave a hell of a performance.
Yukimis stage presence was outstanding. She was so passionate and you could really tell that she loves what she does.
She was beautiful and so, so sexy.
The way she moved
The way she sang
The way she smiled
Every breathtaking note made me fall deeper in love with her.
Little dragon gave the kind of performance that people get to see once every 10 years, at least in my opinion.
I’ve never heard a performance sound BETTER than the recording. Yukimi didn’t miss a single note.
Danced all over stage and got the crowd so involved.
I can’t say enough how great the performance was.

Yukimi Nagano is one if my favorite obsessions. Yukimi is great because of her consistently smooth voice and because of the music she made with progressive Swedish band Koop. I got into Koop after Koop Islands was released in ‘06. It had Jazz, Electronica, and Bossanova influences and was perfectly constructed, I was floored immediately. But there was this female voice all over the album that I couldn’t get out of my head. I found out later that it was the half-Japanese/half-Swedish Yukimi Nagano. A Year later she formed Little Dragon, which has since become one of my top 5 favorite bands.
